The design is drawn with the in-house structural engineering team from the first sketch, with Shahigh Studio, the architectural design partner, close at hand, so what looks right on paper can also be built.
A 3D model you can walk through before anyone digs
The studio builds the pool as a 3D model and renders it against the real house, so you can judge the waterline, the steps, the spill and the sightlines before a stake goes in the ground. The image on this page is an AquaVision Studio render of a plunge pool below a timber-framed three-storey house. It is a render, not a finished pool.
Immersive virtual tours take it a step further: you move through the model instead of looking at a flat picture. Changes are far cheaper to make in the model than in concrete, and a client who has already stood in the design makes decisions with confidence.
Landscape and hardscape worked into the same model
A pool reads well or badly according to what surrounds it. Terraces, paving, steps, walls, planting and lighting positions go into the same model as the water, so the poolscape is settled as a whole and not patched together after the shell is poured.
